Product information :
Measuring approximately 14 by 12-1/5 by 8 inches, this round-shaped 7-quart stew pot works well for simmering a large batch of vegetable-noodle soup, slow braising a pot roast, baking a chicken-and-rice casserole, slow-cooking a hearty stew, and much more. The pot retains heat and distributes it gently and evenly, making the cooking vessel a nice choice for a variety of menu items. It can also be heated to extremely high temperatures for searing. The cookware brings out the natural flavors of food and maintains natural textures and colors for mouthwatering meals. As with other pieces in the Emile Henry's Flame-Top ceramic cookware line, the stew pot is made of Burgundy Clay, which can be used on any stove top (gas, electric, or halogen), without any fear of cracking or breaking. Be sure to use Emile Henry's special induction disk when using the pot on induction stove tops, though. For exceptional convenience, the unit can go directly from the refrigerator or freezer to a hot oven, under the broiler, in the microwave--or even on a barbecue grill. The stew pot's matching lid provides raised dots on the underside, which evenly distribute evaporated juices back into the food for a self-basting effect that delivers more thoroughly cooked, tender, and moist results. The vessel's beautiful design also makes it a viable choice for use as a serving piece at the table. Other highlights include two integrated side handles, a footed base for heat diffusion, and a lightweight design (up to 30-percent lighter than all cast iron). Manufactured in France, the stew pot cleans up quickly by hand or in the dishwasher and carries a 10-year limited warranty.
